Role of Government

  1. Government derives its authority from the consent of the people.
  2. Individual rights are not derived from government decree, but from our creator.
  3. Government officials are not elected to rule over the people, but rather to protect their individual rights.
  4. Individuals make better decisions about their life, liberty and property than government officials.
  5. It is wrong for government to do for people what they, their families or private charities can and should do on their own.
  6. Government cannot create morality or personal responsibility by passing laws.
  7. Free markets produce better outcomes than government programs.
  8. Government should not pass a law unless it has the resolve to enforce it uniformly with all citizens.
